Sadness can be a difficult emotion to deal with not only due to the pain it causes, but the factors that caused the pain. Sadness is one of the most common and natural human emotions. It is something that will ultimately help us appreciate our happy times . Depression disorder is evidence of excessive sadness. It is normal to experience sadness in response to adverse life events .

If the feeling of sadness persists for weeks , months and even years it can be considered as depression. Depression has been an ongoing emotional battle for me and I still figure out new ways to deal with it daily . In this blog post I will share with you a few ways I deal with feeling depressed daily .

Know depression is common and affects millions of people. The key to self- treatment of depression is to be open, accepting and loving to yourself and what your going through.

Do not suppress your feelings or emotions if your having a down day have it let yourself feel the emotions but don’t stay there try distracting yourself. Watch a movie , hangout with friends or family, trying finding someone new or what ever makes you really happy .

Know today isn’t indicative of tomorrow. Get yourself to accept that while some days will be difficult some will be great . Enjoy those great days .

Lastly reward your efforts . You may not feel like celebrating with a cake but recognizing your own success and how far you’ve come might be a great weapon against depression.

Try doing new things daily . When you do the same thing day after day, you use the same parts of your brain. You can challenge your neurons and alter your brain chemistry by doing something entirely different.
